White House subpoena’d over wiretapping documents
Yes, you read that right. The White House, among others, have been subpoenaed to produce documents related to the illegal wiretapping program. I wonder how Cheney plans on getting out of this one.
The Senate Judiciary Committee subpoenaed the White House and Vice President Dick Cheney’s office Wednesday for documents relating to President Bush’s warrant-free eavesdropping program.
Also named in subpoenas signed by committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont, were the Justice Department and the National Security Council.
Updates as they come. I have a feeling this one’s going to get more than a little hairy.
