Bush warns us, from his ranch, that terror threat not over

Someone shoot me. Bush gets on the radio and starts warning us that the threat isn’t over, only there’s a hook. He was still at his damn ranch.

Bush, who returns to Washington on Sunday after a 10-day working vacation at his ranch, urged air travelers to be patient with the stricter security measures.

Forgive me for getting vulgar at this point, but this threat was broken up Thursday, the terror threat level went up to red for the first time since 2001, he’s telling us that the threat might not be over and this asshole won’t even cut his goddamn vacation short? He should have been on a plane back to Washington on Thursday.

But no, what does he do? Has a big barbecue with GOP bigwigs.

The Republican Party’s big spenders were rewarded with a barbecue lunch with President Bush on Friday at a $750,000 fundraiser at a ranch neighboring the president’s Texas home.

The fundraiser was closed to the public and the press, but the Republican National Committee reported that the attendees included 350 people who have each raised at least $15,000 for the party this cycle.

This guy is incredible. He golfs while Osama plots to destroy the WTC, plays guitar while New Orleans drowns, and raises money for the GOP at a barbecue while he claims we’re under threat of a 9/11-sized attack. And that’s after trying to take money away from the DHS for bomb detection and not using Japan’s liquid explosive detectors.

You mark my words, a redcoat victory in November will spell bad news of the highest calibre for America.

Bush was trying to take money away from DHS for bomb detection

I’m speechless. For all of the chatter on being tough on terrorism, all of the talk about how we need tighter security, the Bush Clan was diverting money that was to be for explosives detection.

While the British terror suspects were hatching their plot, the Bush administration was quietly seeking permission to divert $6 million that was supposed to be spent this year developing new homeland explosives detection technology.

The department failed to spend $200 million in research and development money from past years, forcing lawmakers to rescind the money this summer.

The administration also was slow to start testing a new liquid explosives detector that the Japanese government provided to the United States earlier this year.

Boy it’s a good thing they slacked on that one, huh? It’s not like we could use that kind of technology or anything. Man, I’m starting to lose my ability to be shocked by the sheer stupidity of the Bush Clan and their policies. And thanks AMERICAblog for hurting my head with this.
